Putin’s India Visit: Five-Layer Security Activated with Armoured Aurus Senat

Five-Layer Security to Activate the Moment Putin Lands in India — Ground to Air Protection in Place

India has put in place an extensive security plan for Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit. Ahead of his arrival, a five-layer security shield has been established, involving elite National Security Guard (NSG) commandos, snipers, drones, jammers, and AI-based surveillance systems. The security protocol will be activated the moment Putin steps off his aircraft.

Dozens of Russian Security Personnel Already in India

More than four dozen top-level Russian security officials have already arrived in Delhi to coordinate with Indian agencies. Along with Delhi Police and NSG officers, these officials have been inspecting every possible route that the Russian President may travel through.

A dedicated control room has been set up to monitor movement via drone surveillance. Multiple sniper teams will be deployed along the routes used by the motorcade. The tech-heavy security arrangement includes anti-drone systems, signal jammers, facial recognition cameras and AI-powered monitoring tools.

Surveillance at Every Step

All security personnel will remain in constant contact with the command control room. NSG and Delhi Police will secure the outer security layer, while Putin’s own protection team will manage the inner layer. When President Putin is alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India’s elite Special Protection Group (SPG) commandos will also join the innermost ring of protection.

The hotel where Putin is expected to stay is undergoing thorough checks. Russian security teams are also inspecting every location on Putin’s itinerary, including alternate emergency routes and backup venues.

Putin’s Armoured Limousine Flown from Moscow

One highlight of the security arrangements is the Aurus Senat — Putin’s heavily armoured luxury limousine. The vehicle has been shipped from Moscow specifically for this visit. Earlier this year, during the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Summit in China, Putin and Prime Minister Modi travelled together in the same model.

Often described as a “moving fortress”, the Aurus Senat is manufactured by Aurus Motors and was introduced in 2018. It serves as the official state car under Russia’s “Cortege” programme, designed to produce domestically manufactured luxury and armoured vehicles for government use.
