Lufthansa Dreamliner Incident at Frankfurt Airport Injures Several Ground Staff

Lufthansa Frankfurt Airport incident

Several airport employees and crew members were injured after a Lufthansa aircraft suffered a nose gear collapse while preparing for departure at Germany’s busiest airport on Thursday.

The incident occurred at Frankfurt Airport shortly before a scheduled flight to Los Angeles. According to airline officials, the aircraft’s front landing gear suddenly gave way while the plane was on the ground.

In a statement, Lufthansa said passenger boarding had not yet begun when the accident happened. Only crew members and ground personnel were onboard or working around the aircraft at the time.

Several employees sustained injuries and received medical treatment. The airline did not immediately disclose the exact number of people hurt or the severity of their injuries.

The aircraft involved was reportedly a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, one of Lufthansa’s newest long-haul aircraft. The plane was scheduled to operate Flight LH450 from Frankfurt to Los Angeles.

The accident occurred at approximately 12:45 p.m. local time while preparations for departure were underway.

Lufthansa said it is cooperating with aviation authorities and technical experts to determine what caused the nose gear failure. The aircraft has been removed from service pending a full investigation.

The incident caused disruption at the airport and raised questions about the mechanical issue that led to the collapse of the aircraft’s front landing gear.
