Man in His 20s Dies After Stabbing Near Surrey Pub, Police Confirm
Police have confirmed that a man found dead in an alleyway beside a pub in Surrey was in his 20s and had suffered fatal stab wounds.
Emergency services were called at about 15:30 GMT on Tuesday after the man was discovered seriously injured next to the Wheatsheaf pub on Kingston Road in Ewell. Despite efforts by paramedics to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities are appealing for anyone who was in the Kingston Road area between 15:20 and 15:30 on Tuesday—or anyone who may have relevant CCTV, dashcam, or phone footage—to come forward to assist the investigation.
Det Ch Insp Kimball Edey, who is leading the inquiry, acknowledged the anxiety in the community following the incident.
He said: “We understand the concern among local residents, and we appreciate their patience while our teams continue to investigate. Our officers are working relentlessly to determine exactly what happened, and there will be a heightened police presence in the area in the coming days as we work to identify and arrest those responsible.”
Road closures on Kingston Road and Chessington Road, which were put in place to allow forensic teams to examine the scene, have since been lifted.
