A luxury watch inspired by a private wildlife sanctuary owned by the family of India’s richest businessman, Mukesh Ambani, has been unveiled, drawing attention for both its design and its estimated multi-million-dollar value.
Created by high-end watchmaker Jacob & Co, the custom-made timepiece features a detailed miniature sculpture of Anant Ambani, the youngest son of the billionaire industrialist, seated at the centre of the dial. Surrounding the figure are sculpted representations of a lion and a Bengal tiger, reflecting the wildlife theme of the project.
Although the brand has not officially confirmed the price, luxury watch industry experts estimate the value of the piece at around $1.5 million. The watch is believed to be one of the most intricate custom designs ever produced by the company.
The design is inspired by Vantara, a large private wildlife rescue and rehabilitation facility owned by Anant Ambani. The centre, located in Jamnagar, Gujarat, spans more than 3,500 acres and houses thousands of animals, including elephants, lions and other protected species. The facility is not open to the public and is situated close to Reliance Industries’ massive oil refinery complex.
Vantara gained international attention last year when it was inaugurated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It also featured prominently during Anant Ambani’s high-profile pre-wedding celebrations in 2024, which were attended by Bollywood stars, global business leaders and international celebrities.
Jacob & Co said the watch was created as a tribute to wildlife conservation and stewardship. According to the brand, the timepiece contains nearly 400 precious stones, including diamonds, sapphires and garnets, carefully set into its intricate design.
An executive from Ethos Watches, the brand’s retail partner in India, confirmed that the watch has not yet been made available for sale and that pricing details remain undisclosed.
The release has sparked interest among luxury watch collectors and enthusiasts worldwide, highlighting once again the growing influence of Indian clients in the global luxury market.
